Inconel 617, also known as Alloy 617, UNS N06617, and W.Nr. 2.4663, is a nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy that combines exceptional high-temperature strength with outstanding oxidation and carburization resistance. With its balanced composition, it provides excellent metallurgical stability and maintains mechanical properties up to 1100°C (2000°F), making it one of the most reliable alloys for extreme heat applications.
Inconel 617 is widely used in gas turbines, petrochemical processing, heat exchangers, industrial furnaces, and power generation plants. Its resistance to both oxidizing and reducing environments, combined with superior creep rupture strength, makes it a preferred material for components exposed to severe thermal cycling and aggressive atmospheres.
